As it turns out, my suspicions about the cut of the Phantom Menace proved to be correct. Some of the "Deleted Scenes" were retroactively added back into the movie. Not all of them, and some only partially, but they're there nevertheless. Hmmm. Seems to me like Mr Lucas never seems to want to stop fiddling about with his movies. Oh well. To each their own, I suppose 8)
