Unfortunately this music file is windows media format only. Worth locating a machine that can play it though - after all, who would have guessed that paperclips might get depressed? Hey, is that a letter you're writing..? 8)
P.S. Pop Idol is getting to the point where it's practically impossible to choose between them. My prediction that Hayley would go this week has proved accurate. Next week, I think it's going to be Darius. Unless he sings "Baby One More Time". I really hope it's going to be 'Gormless' Gareth, who was definitely the worst this evening (even if it was good by his standards). Top entertainment tonight though - it really looked as if Waterman was going to deck Callow at one point... He might even have succeeded if Dr "There's no evidence for it, but it's scientific fact" Cox hadn't stopped him getting out of his seat. Live TV at its best! 8)
I don't watch Pop Idol, though I feel that I've done so vicariously through the ongoing Carline critique, but I had it on while I was getting ready to go out last night, and so I saw someone who I think was called Zoe belting out a big band number and doing a phenomenal job of it. I can't deny that I was impressed. Certainly moreso than I was by the rather waify youth who came on next to massacre Mac The Knife. One of the pundits said that there was no doubt in their mind that win or lose, the waif would go on to be a pop idol, which I found a truly depressing prospect. Mind you, I find most of the actual 'pop idols' doing the rounds these days to be truly depressing prospects....
Waif = Gareth. And I disagree vehemently with said pundit about his chances of being a pop idol - well, at least for any longer than 5 minutes. After all, said pundit was behind Timmy Mallet and Mr Blobby. And Westlife. I rest my case. 8)
However, I must agree that Zoe was fantastic - she seems to be getting better and better, especially these past couple of weeks. Up till then, she had a tendency to over-egg the songs she sang (probably something to do with being just 16) - but recently she's really reined it in, focussed on the song, and delivered exceptional performances (I hate it when vocalists show off to the detriment of the music - compare early Whitney/Mariah with recent Whitney/Mariah - amazing talent in the early days, but pure vocal wanking these days).
And they wonder why they're not a success any more... sigh
