Well, Pop Idol (yesterday evening) was none too inspiring. None of them did very well, not even Zoe (who was sensational last week, but - to quote one of the judges - chose songs "a little bit beyond" her this week). Thus it was no surprise she was subsequently voted off. Gareth remains (he was the worst, although the judges raved about him for some unknown reason) probably because he looks most attractive to the pre-pubescent teenyboppers who form the vast majority of the "record buying public" these days. Unfortunately his wooden personality, gormlessness and general lack of singing ability have become increasingly irritating these past couple of weeks.
Even more than usual.
Thus, we're left with Darius, Will and Gareth. Who will be nest? My prediction is Will, as he's the most talented of the trio - although it probably won't matter if I'm wrong. Whether it's between Gareth and Darius or Will, it seems an increasingly forgone conclusion that Gareth is going to win. I hope I am wrong.
To complement your docusoap ramblings Chris, I thought I would let you know that the Swedish version of "Temptation Island" started last night. Now if ever there was a ghastly program, this was it. I managed to keep the TV on throughout the whole thing just to make sure it was as bad as I thought it was.
Imagine a whole group of the guys who bullied you at school and the girls who you would never have had a chance with in a million years, all copped up together with the intent of trying to get laid and break up 4 long-term couples' relationships. Absolutely ghastly! I will not be watching it again I can assure you.
In the light of that, PopStars or Pop Idol seems completely harmless!
