It's currently snowing in London. In fact, it's practically blizzard over in this part (around Charlotte Street) and it's settling really quickly. Woo!
I just hope it melts soon, as if there's one thing I don't like it's walking/slushing/slipping through days-old dirty brown snow...
At least I have some new boots. I bought them at the beginning of last week, but my heels are still paying the blistering price. It was the tyranny of puddles that finally did it in the end. The soles in my old DMs had split, and were letting in rather a lot of water in the wet. Basically, I think that my feet wouldn't have been significantly drier if I'd just walked around in my socks, but there you go. Anyway, I went to a shop in Covent Garden to pick up a new pair, which I did. But that left me with the question of what to do with the old, knackered pair. So I asked the cashier if I could put them in the bin at the shop and I could! It was quite the experience - going into a shop wearing one pair of boots and leaving with another pair and a receipt. I didn't even need a bag! It was great.
Cripes, I'm a sad-sack, aren't I?
In other unrelated events, I stumbled upon this site which aims to provide a single obscure mp3 every day this year. It's fantastic; the song Understanding Marx is particularly noteworthy, and a recommended download.
I bought a book, "Once More, With Feeling" by Victoria Coren and Charlie Skelton whilst I was in Foyles the other day, and it's as every bit as good as I was hoping. But imagine my delight on opening the book on the way home to discover that my copy had actually been signed by both authors! Woohoo! 8)
Oh and Mike - I fail to notice a difference..? ;-)
