Today, I presented at a conference.
I was dire.
That is all.
No, really. It was probably the worst presentation I've ever been to. It's just that in this instance I was giving it.
Lets put it this way: It started badly, and then just kept getting worse. I babbled, I kept repeating myself, I kept stopping in mid sentence trying desperately to find the next word...
Awful, awful, awful.
And it kept getting worse.
Some bloke who later turned out to be professor whasname from the international institute of clever people in germany and an expert in the field I'd just been babbling about asked me a question about something I'd never even heard about.
It was a tough gig, and I bombed.
Basically, looking back at it, I can precisely identify the reasons as to why it went so badly wrong, so I've learned in the best tradition. Only in front of 200 or so people the lesson is a little harsh.
I may be being overly harsh on myself, most people are their own worst critic, but really, even looking back with more rational eyes, I really was quite dreadful.
