Wait - something's different...

Well, we managed to drag ourselves out to see the new Matrix film this evening even if we didn't feel the brightest of sparks - but it was worth it in the end. Despite reading enough "this sucks" comments to deflate anyone's expectations, it was nice to find out that I completely disagreed with them.

I found The Matrix Reloaded to be every bit as enjoyable as it is ludicrous, which is quite a lot. The beginning drags a bit, especially the Zion scenes (I remember thinking, "Can't we get to the kung-fu already?") but soon the proper action kicks in and it's a non-stop ride from thereonin.

We stayed till the Revolutions trailer, which whilst in retrospect probably wasn't worth it, I'd have been annoyed if I'd missed it.

So on the whole, it gets a big popcorn-movie thumbs-up from me. ;-)

there's spoilery stuff I wouldn't mind pontificating about when everyone who cares has seen the movie...

hehe, saw it last night, and thought it was bloody excellent. You're right about the first bit in Zion, but it more than makes up for it later on.

I don't really see how people who liked the first one could fail to enjoy this one just as much .... but I guess there's no accounting for some taste.
