Over the past couple of years, I've been using brasso metal polish (the liquid, not the wire wool!) in order to restore glass and plastic fascias and so on. I'd read that it was really good for these purposes, gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised.
However, until last night, I'd not tried using it on a DVD.
On Sunday, I bought a game (Burnout 2 on the PS2 - it's great!). Unfortunately, I didn't put it back after I'd finished with it - Lali decided the game was much more fun after she'd ejected it from the PS2 and pretended the DVD was a surfboard.
Needless to say, the game didn't load after that.
However, I dimly remembered that somebody once told me that Brasso metal polish restored CDs - so considering I had nothing to lose, I thought I'd try out the theory.
Needless to say, the disk was restored to its original 100% working functionality, a factor I've been working into my evening plans of late. No skipping, no jumping, just pure unalloyed film delight.
Fantastic stuff, and recommended.
