Just a quickie.
It seems to me that people are thick. They are more likely to believe things that most closely fit their own prejudices without either the depth or quality of information they demand from those holding opposite views. That's not to say they are wrong; it's just an observation that holds true across the full gamut of human belief that makes me (in some way or other) uncomfortable.
